SXSW – starting the conversation

Hey guys! I made this video yesterday and I wanted to share it with you all. I hadn’t made a video blog, or even sat down in front of a camera since May 2009. So I get a little emotional about it. But I’m really excited to start getting back to my first love of social media, which is online video. So I hope you enjoy it, and I hope this opens up a really good conversation.

    Sarah,
This is the reason why our friends go to SXSW. It's people like you and Rob and Amber and Sarah V. and Krissi and Annie and everyone else that loves this stuff and that's why we do it. It was good to see you at SXSW this year, even for a little bit. MY head's still spinning from all the inspiration I got, and I just got more from your video.

Aww, thank you! I honestly was going crazy yesterday just missing my support system. But you guys are always still there online…and when I need an epic tokbox therapy session, I'm coming to you guys!

Woohoo Sarah! I LOVED this video in so many ways. You are totally awesome, and I'm so honored to have been able to sit on the plane with you. :) I just want to reach out and hug you my dear.

You can do it – you're doing awesome, and I'm here to support you and whatever direction you want to take with your personal brand.

I loved your video. I got a little choked up there for a minute. Have dealt with weight and cancer issues. Totally inspired to get more videos out myself.

This post was mentioned on Twitter by sarahcooley: SXSW was really emotional for me, but I’m sharing that will all of you because you are my #SXSWfamily http://bit.ly/aBYfSw...

I don't know you. I doubt that I will ever meet you. But, you are doing what I personally think social media is all about. Having a conversation and allowing your self to inspire others.

Your message about being a healthy person is being echoed by many people. Your energy and forward thinking will only allow others to overcome their own limits.

I can't wait to see the progress. I wish you the best. But, if I do make it to SxSW next year and we happen to meet. I say you set up a Powerwalk Meetup.

Thank you, that really means a lot. And trust me, SXSW next year, we will set up some very healthy living stuff! Mark my words!

You're amazing. Don't ever apologize about being excited, eager, or however you may feel at the moment. Capturing that energy in video is genius, congratulations on all of the inspiration!

Remember when I saw you at the Mashable party in the bathroom? There were tears in your eyes then and I wanted to give you a hug! I watched this whole video and teared up and now I want to give you an even bigger hug! As an emotional person myself, I applaud you sharing your passion, emotion, and experience… it's not an easy thing to do (I've tried and failed miserably many times). Your openness is infectious and inspiring. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to future experiences together, hopefully with more laughs than tears involved :)

@Alexa thank you so much, and don't worry, I got my share of hugs this week.

It is my first time here, I follow you on twitter. I just saw your new video blog and it sounded like you needed to get a lot off your plate and it made you feel better. It was very honest and to the point. I have started doing the vegan lifestyle. Walking and getting out more is so good for you. I know how it is to be overweight and I have fought it for years. Finally like you said it is the healthy lifestyle we have to change to. Thanks for being so open and honest it is great to hear someone show their inner feelings and self to the world.

Whoa. This is a meltdown, plain and simple. You better get some help and up the dosage of whatever psychotropic you’re taking.

  • http://randomsarah.com sarahcooley

Thanks Brian. You are right, I was suffering from PTSD…but not to worry this video is almost a year old and I’ve gotten help since then.

    Thank you for your concern.
