Personal Brand vs Real Brand

I want to know how you feel about people using their personal brand to promote their real brand?

When it comes to bringing your 'real brand' (I think of this as 'career brand' really) to those who follow your personally then I don't think it's a problem. If that 'real brand' is part of what 'makes you' and contributes to your 'personal brand' (and obviously it does because that's what you do day-to-day) then it's a element can't ignore, let alone worry whether you should leave it aside.

It's only odd when you bring your 'personal brand' to 'real brand' followers. 'Real brand' followers are looking at things at a much higher level. 'Personal brand' followers are looking at things at a much lower level. At the higher level, many lower level interests are bundled together, and when people want to know more then drill down to the lower levels (still with me?). I think its best to let your 'real brand' followers go through that process themselves. In the other instance, whatsitallabout.tv is what makes you, which 'personal brand' followers will appreciate much more.

The two brands aren't really comparable because they share different audiences, and as a result, it's not really a two-way relationship. I hope i've explained myself well enough, hehe.

(wow, a few grammar mistakes in there. I hope you can decrypt!)

Yea, I'd have to agree with @chrischerrett. People who are following Random Sarah won't mind learning what you're doing with your show, since they're interested in your everyday. I think it gets a little fuzzier when you've got your Random Sarah stuff on your “Real Brand”, just because of what you said in the video: people who only follow the show aren't interested in your everyday. I also think that in general, cross posting may not be the absolute best idea because there will be people out there that are following you on both your personal and “real” brands and redundancy gets a little old sometimes. I think instead that a quick and gentle reminder that there's new content on your “real” brand could be a viable compromise for this issue, but only trying it out would actually allow you to see if that works…

    Good luck!
