Lots of good info!! The SD750 and SD1000 are good P&S cameras to recommend to others.
Just a little clarification, SLR means Single Lens Reflex. The mirror let’s you see through the lens via the viewfinder, it doesn’t record the image. When you press the shutter button the mirror lifts up and let’s the sensor capture the image.
You should pick up a 50mm f1.8 for under $100. A good fast prime lens is essential to have. Try to rent an 17-40mm f/4 L or maybe the speedy 16-35mm f/2.8 L. The “L” lenses are such nice glass. There should be a noticeable improvement from the kit lens.
BTW, those Olympus are very durable. The drawback is mediocre image quality, especially compared to your SD750. The optics suffer when they build for waterproof and durability. Still, it’s good enough for people who need a rugged camera for everyday shots.
thanks…I know what an SLR is, I just spaced when I was recording the video.
I was thinking about renting a Canon 70-200mm f/4L
